Gospel 90.3
I have created many different print designs for Gospel 90.3, but my favorite is their annual Christmas card.
2003
The station wanted a classic theme. They sent me a full-color picture for the front of the card and told me to work my magic. I desaturated everything but the car to make it look like an older picture. Then I blurred the background to bring emphasize the foreground.
The back features a close up of the car with pictures of the staff inset. I wasn’t totally happy with the typography, but it’s what Gospel 90.3 wanted.
Unfortunately Rich passed away from cancer soon after.
2005
2005’s card features a plain background with pictures of the staff inset. There was a change in station managers so they decided to not go for the “classic” look.
2006
Gospel 90.3 wanted a picture of a present with a tag addressed to “you” from their station. I found the perfect picture but it did not have a tag — not until I ran it through Photoshop.
The back was a challenge because i wanted the picture under the ornament. Photoshop came to the rescue again and after meticulous cutting and shading, the ornament and picture look right. I bet you would have never known it if I hadn’t told you.
